This is a great new series of chip-timed 5km events which offer you the opportunity to test your fitness and see your improvement across a 5 week period as we launch 3 new races in June and July of 2020.

The Northwich 5km series is a flat fast 5km held on a traffic free course with less than 10m of elevation gain across the entire course. The race is perfect for all runners whether you are chasing a PB or simply looking for a mid-week challenge and offers the perfect venue to bring friends and family to support you on this 2 lap course

The course is around the stunning Neumann’s Flashes which makes up part of the Northwich Woodlands in the heart of Cheshire.

In addition to our summer series you can put your end of year fitness to the test or blow away those festive cobwebs with our Boxing Day 5k race which will be the first staging of the race in December 2019.

Race HQ will be on Marbury Lane (CW9 5LN) next to the start and finish area for the race. There is plenty of available parking in Northwich town centre close by and race HQ will offer baggage drop for those choosing to travel to the race on foot.

There are cash prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3 rd open male and female and prizes for the 1st place master athlete in all age categories.

All finishers will receive refreshments and water and a separate special edition medal for each race.

There is not a road closure as the race is ran on a permanently traffic free route.

Each runner will be issued with a race number with a disposable timing chip on race day.

This system is user friendly. The disposable system allows runners to have more flexibility at the finish line, since the removal of the chip is not required.

If you are using the single use chip, please ensure the following to receive an accurate time:

Race bib is clearly visible on the front of the torso
Race bib is unaltered and unmodified
Race bib is pinned in all four corners
Race bib is not covered (jackets, runner belts, water bottles, etc.)

Please note: The race number allocated to you is for use by you only. Please do not pass on the race number unless you have completed the online transfer. The transfer entry closing date is on your confirmation email.

Unfortunately, not. This is the first staging of this race so we are being overcautious. It is something we plan to look at for future races.

No. The race is a UK Athletics affiliated race and therefore dogs are not permitted.

Refunds are not available for the race but participants are able to transfer their space to someone else up until the closing date specified on the conformation email. We do not allow deferrals to another race or to the same race the following year.

There is plenty of very low cost parking in Northwich just a short walk from Race HQ.

Toilets will be available on race day at Race HQ.

Yes. A bag drop area can be found at Race HQ.

Yes. The race is affiliated to UK Athletics and as the course is fully closed to traffic it is permitted however please ensure the volume is low enough for you to hear instructions from marshals.

We are unable to accept wheelchair athletes at this stage due to the terrain.
