runMid Cheshire 5k

Quite simply one of the fastest 5k road races anywhere in the country. We would love you to join us at our lightning quick 5k in a fantastic location in the heart of the Cheshire countryside.  This course was the fastest in the UK in 2018 and has course records of 13.45 and 15.28.

Race instructions will be emailed and race numbers will be posted approximately one week before race day.

There will be no transfers or entries after the date in your confirmation email as we need to seed runners into the two races and numerous waves in those races.

There will be parking, a scaled down Race HQ and toilets in the fields close to the start area.  Please use the postcode WA6 8HL

The race starts and finishes on nearby Ball Lane where a full rolling road closure will allow you to concentrate on the race and not the oncoming traffic.  In only four years this race has cemented itself into the national road racing calendar with runners travelling from across the country to take part and has twice recently staged the England Athletics 5k Road Race championships.

Race Entry

Entry is £18.00 and £16.00 for UKA members with an additional £2.00 for on the day entries with refreshments for all finishers.

(UKA Licence tbc) Entrants must be 13 or over on race day.

NOT SURE?FAQS

Full list of road closure details available on this link in the weeks building up to the race.

Each runner will be issued with a race number with a disposable timing chip attached to the back in their race pack.  This system is user friendly. All you need to do is remember your race number. The disposable system allows runners to have more flexibility at the finish line, since the removal of the chip is not required.

If you are using the single use chip, please ensure the following to receive an accurate time:

  • Race bib is clearly visible on the front of the torso
  • Race bib is unaltered and unmodified
  • Race bib is pinned in all four corners
  • Race bib is not covered (jackets, runner belts, water bottles, etc.)

Please note: The race number allocated to you is for use by you only. Please do not pass on the race number unless you have completed the online transfer.  The transfer entry closing date is on your confirmation email.

Due to fast nature of this particular race, runners are not able to take part in the race while pushing a buggy.

No.  The race is a UK Athletics affiliated race and therefore dogs are not permitted.

Refunds are not available for the race but participants are able to transfer their space to someone else up until the closing date specified on the conformation email.  We do not allow deferrals to another race or to the same race the following year.

Full details of parking will be included in race instructions sent normally around 10 days prior to the race.

Toilets will be available on race day at Race HQ and close to the start line.  There are additional toilets at the furthest car park.

There is limited changing but no shower facilities at Race HQ.

No.  There is not the room at Race HQ to accommodate a bag drop.

Yes. The race is affiliated to UK Athletics and as the course is fully closed to traffic it is permitted however please ensure the volume is low enough for you to hear instructions from marshals.

No.  Due to us having to reconfigure the start and finish line once the race is underway the road closure timings would not allow us to have a separate start.

We are always looking to improve the standard of the race.  Elite runners are invited to contact us at admin@runcheshire.com to check eligibility.
